PADI Divemaster
If you’re looking for new challenges, enjoy connecting with people, and want to turn your hobby into a profession, or simply aim to elevate your diving skills and theory to a professional level, the PADI Divemaster course is the perfect opportunity to enter the professional world of diving.
The PADI Divemaster program is the first step in PADI’s professional diving courses and a mandatory prerequisite for advancing to ‘PADI Assistant Instructor’ and ‘PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor’. As a certified Divemaster, you can work globally as a diving professional and even earn money.
Learn how to lead underwater tours, assist with scuba classes, and inspire others to care about the ocean.
Hone your skills and become the diver everyone admires.
PADI Divemaster is the most popular and most recognized professional scuba certification in the world.
PADI Divemasters enjoy abundant career opportunities, get paid to scuba dive, and share their love for the ocean.
A Divemaster is qualified to guide certified divers, assist instructors with various PADI courses, lead certain PADI courses independently, and organize recreational dive activities.
To increase your chances of being hired as a Divemaster, it’s essential to offer more than just basic assistance. A comprehensive training program is crucial. A high-quality Divemaster course goes beyond merely carrying equipment and filling tanks—it focuses on the pedagogical aspects, ensuring you’re prepared to take on a leadership role in the dive industry.

Course Content & Structure
The PADI Divemaster course is divided into three main components: theoretical study, pool/confined water sessions, and an internship. Here’s a breakdown of each phase:
Theory at Your Own Pace:
- The theoretical portion is completed through self-study with the Divemaster course package, followed by a written exam and a divemaster plan (Emergency Assistance Plan, Divemap).
- Study at your own pace using a computer or mobile device.
- Approximate time commitment: 8-12 hours.
Pool/Confined water Sessions:
Divemaster Skills:
- In this phase, you’ll master the core skills needed for the Divemaster role, including demonstration of diving skills, a rescue demonstration, and a stress test.
- These sessions are designed to give you the hands-on experience you’ll need to guide divers and assist instructors during courses.
- Schedule: Dates are arranged in consultation with the instructor.
Internship:
- You will work alongside our professional instructors and actively participate in training real students. The goal of this phase is to prepare you for your career as a Divemaster. You will assist instructors during various courses, including Open Water, Advanced Open Water, and Rescue Diver, and gain hands-on experience while learning how to guide students.
- The practical training takes place in Kerveli Village or at other dive sites in Samos. These open water sessions and dates will be arranged in consultation with the instructor.
DSD Leader (Discover Scuba Diving Leadership)
- DSD Leaders are PADI Divemasters who have received additional training during their Divemaster course, allowing them to independently conduct Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) courses once they have earned their Divemaster certification. Once you have successfully completed your Divemaster certification and the additional DSD Leader training, you will also receive a certification.

Medical Requirement
Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to get written approval from a physician before diving.
Avoid disappointment, download and review the Diver Medical form to ensure you won’t need a physician’s approval to dive before enrolling in a scuba course.
Instructors, divemasters and dive shop staff are not physicians and should not be asked for medical advice; only medical professionals can give medical clearance to dive.
If you (or your physician) have questions about medical fitness to dive, contact the experts at Divers Alert Network (DAN).

Do I need to purchase the e-Learning course in advance through the PADI website?
No. With all of our courses, the e-Learning course is already included in the course prices.
Moreover, if you were to purchase the e-Learning course through the PADI website, it will end up being more expensive.
This is because we, as a dive center, have better conditions than individuals, allowing us to offer the e-Learning course at a lower price.
Therefore, it is absolutely not necessary to purchase the e-Learning course in advance through the PADI website.
If you do, unfortunately, the total price of the course will be higher for you.
